Mr. & Mrs. Bonta | Crestmore Manor Wedding

He saw her profile.  Her Myspace profile, back when Myspace was the social network.  He was intrigued and asked her out to the movies.  He tells the story with great detail vividly telling me he remembers her walking up the steps to the platform as he waited to meet her for the first time.  She remembers how sweet and romantic he was, and still is.  Making sure that she is not without all her needs, not without love, not without a perfect wedding day.

It was such a brilliantly beautiful day.  She was getting ready.  He was anxious to see her. She laced up her dress with a small token taken from her grandmother's bridal gown, made sure to have her veil on tight, and toasted with her girls as she was to leave being engaged behind and walking towards being a wife.  His wife.

I feel so extraordinarily honored to have photographed these two on their most special day.  Not because of all the beautiful details, or how gorgeous of a day it was.  I was honored because the amount of love that poured out of their hearts in every breath they took that day.  Anastasia + Duanne made their day uniquely them.  Full of family, love, and excitement.  Pronouncing their "I Do's" loudly and ever so proudly.

Mr. & Mrs. Bonta:  This past year of knowing you has been such a terrific joy in my life.  I have loved getting to know you on a personal level and ultimately becoming your friend.  There are no words to accurately express how honored I was to have been at your wedding.  I cried during Duanne's vows, and smiled when Anastasia and you kissed.  I know that the love you have for each other will not only last forever, but inspire many to love as deeply and as truly as you two do.  Thank you for allowing me to experience such a love.

Love you guys!

Beautiful invitations made by one of my previous brides, Analicia!

A bride that wears flats on her wedding day is a girl after my own heart!

The blue backing behind the lace up is from Anastasia's late grandmother's dress.  A great momento and her something blue.

Anastasia and Duanne opted for a First Look.  This is where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony and have a few minutes alone together.  It is such a treat to have this time to embrace each other and really enjoy taking in the day.

Anastasia: You're freakin" gorgeous!

Anastasia's grandmother was a part of every element of her day.  She was there in every piece.  From the lace back of her dress, to the piece pinned on the sleeve of her dress, and this Franc on her bouquet. It was beautiful to see her grandmother's spirit resonate through out the day.

Anastasia's grandfather wore the French flag and little ties in the colors in his hair and beard.  He gave such a great service!

That is one happy groom!

This was quite possible the best moment of the entire day.  Anastasia's vows were very heart warming and straight from the place only reserved for Duanne.  Duanne's vows were a little different.  For three months, he, with the help of one of Anastasia's cousins, learned his vows in French.  The reason for this was because he wanted Anastasia's grandmother's spirit to be there during this very important step in the ceremony.  And cue in the tears!  There was not a dry eye in the entire place.  It was so special!

A few reception details:

After dinner, the light was absolutely so beautiful.  I took out the bride and groom for some sunset photos around the fountain (which earlier in the day was so bright during the day) and by their grand exit car.  These are my favorite!

It was a perfect day.  A sunny day.  A perfect, sunny day for a wedding.  All week it had been gloomy and cold.  But not on this day.  Because this day was for Amber and Kevin.

Amber and Kevin were introduced by my previous bride, Analicia.  Being a mutual friend, she knew that they were perfect for each other.  And they truly are.   Each one compliments the other in many ways one of which is LOVE.

Upon arriving at the Riverside Arts Museum, I knew that it was going to be a special day.  Amber and Kevin had opted for a small and intimate wedding filled with rustic and artistic details, much like their personalities.  The whole wedding was a reflection of what their life will be like as one.

Amber & Kevin:  Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your beautiful intimate wedding.  I cried during the dim lighted ceremony, danced along to your first dance, and happily drank some of your Mexi-Colas :).  I hope that I have made it as memorable as you two did.  I wish you much happiness!

De La Cueva | Part II | Los Angeles Wedding Photographer

Part II!  Some ceremony and of course, the portraits!

Can I just say first hand, Analin, you are amazing at choosing locations.  First, your engagement session at the Greystone Mansion and then your wedding portraits at the Pasadena City Hall... you really know how to make a photography smile.  Really big.  Big with teeth showing.

Part III will be up soon and I hope you are thrilled to see these few of many!

Married!

HELLO GORGEOUS!

and... Javi, you're quite then ham!

Both of these are competing to be my absolute faves of the whole day!

This day started like wedding days usually start... with me running around getting ready, packing the water bag, and loading everything into the car.  Then running back in to the house remembering I forgot the directions.  Or some kind of dirivative of that scenaro.  No matter how much I prep myself with check lists, to-do lists, and reminder lists, I still run around like a crazy person.  It's the nerves, I'm sure!

As soon as I walked into the hotel room where Analin was getting ready, her sister, Vivian passed by me in mermaid dress and it was a beautiful burnt orange.  ORANGE!  I gasped and immediately ran to Analin to let her know that she made my day!  You see, the color orange, happens to be MY FAVORITE COLOR!  Analin and I were meant to be, obviously!

The day kept unwinding very smoothly and ahead of schedule.  Unfolding such wonderful surprises along the way with the bling all the girls wore, the beautiful church, and who doesn't like a candy bar?! This is only Part One...

Hello bling!

How lucky were we?  The hotel room in which Analin and her sisters got ready in had an ORANGE couch!

The entire time, the girls were laughing and joking around.  My kind of gals :)

Analin:  You're GORGEOUS!

And because I'm a meanie... I'm leaving you hanging with this one.

,  that is usually running around on the weekends preparing brides for their big day.  But she wanted to do something different.  Something fun, colorful, and really stretch her skills.  She contacted me and we set a date.

I couldn't be happier with the results!  The girls had never modeled before and it just goes to show how with some fun make up and wardrobe, a model can be born!  They were naturals!  We had a fun time and can't wait to do more of these shoots in the future!

Happy Friday!

Analicia + Chris DIY Wedding | Riverside Wedding Photographer

Analicia and I go back.  Waaay back.  Back like high school back.  However, we didn't run in the same circles, didn't hang out, and we didn't call each other to have movie nights.

But as fate would have it, when I posted a bulletin on MySpace in 2008 offering $50.00 sessions to help raise money to pay my tuition, she was one of the first who responded.  Presley, that pretty girl in the yellow, was 6 months and needed some photos for her baptism.  Then, in 2009, I photographed Analicia, Chris, and Presley for their Christmas portraits.  And this year, I was honored to photograph their wedding.

In between the fundraiser, the family portraits, and wedding, Analicia and I would get together for coffee and talk.  I got to know her on a deeper level and in retrospect I would have so been in her circle in high school.   I learned that their wedding was themed "Day of the Dead" in honor of her father, who had passed on.  I listened and couldn't help myself smile at how meaningful this wedding would be.  And it was nothing short of it.

We talked about how her wedding was a DIY wedding and that day I was so amazed by how great of job she did!  All the paper flowers, every invitation, the murals around the reception, the table settings, photo booth, and down to the party favors they made them.  It was a lot of work but each piece has their special touch.

Analicia + Chris + Presley: Thank you for having me photograph your wedding!  I am truly honored to know you and have been there to capture your wonderful and beautiful day.  Being your photographer and your friend is more than I can ask for and I wish you all the very best!  Now, we are in the same circle :).  Love you guys!

Jessica + Chris | Diamond Bar Wedding Photographer

Jessica and Chris looked at each other endearingly and so lovingly on their special day it brought a tear to my eye watching their first dance.  It was a crazy day and Jessica didn't flinch one bit.  She was calm and collected in her beautiful rosette dress.  Chris was all smiles the entire day.  Especially when he looked at his bride.

Nothing says love like Jessica and Chris and that day, they sure illuminated with happiness.

Mr. & Mrs. Harper:  Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day and to be there for you while you were planning a wedding from another state.  I hope that your honeymoon was fabulous and that you enjoy this little sneak peek.  Hugs!

Also a little shout out to my assistant at Jessica & Chris' wedding
