Because I believe it should be a national holiday: Remembering 9/11

It will forever be a staple in the history of US.  And therefore, I vote for it to be a national holiday and a day of remembrance and prayer.  To those who gave their lives on the day.  To those who are still giving their life.  And to those whose lives were changed forever.

Today is for you.

late mornings, lazy afternoons, and warm sunsets

summer breezes through open windows with the sun shining in the late morning.  school was out and time seemed to suspend itself.  late mornings turned into lazy afternoon naps and warm sunsets.  trips to the beach and my toes in the sand.

summer is my absolute favorite season.  there's nothing like it and this summer i hope to ride a beach cruiser down the balboa boardwalk, go surfing, have a bonfire or two, and enjoy the warm sun on skin as it gets darker and darker.

hello summer.

35 mm Tuesday ... on a Friday

A trip through cow county.  I was there for like 10 minutes shooting these amazing cows drinking from the watering hole and just as I put my finger on the shutter to take the second to last shot on the roll, the cow looked up.  As if it was meant to be.  And the following photos are from a trip through LA.

Happy  Friday!

35mm Tuesday

A little trip to the Crab Pot in Long Beach.  Drank a huge glass of Fat Tire.  And a trip to Sunset Beach in Seal Beach.

I own a point and shoot digital camera however, for some reason, the automatic zoom 35mm point and shoot is so much more fun.  It is like a sweet surprise hoping to get what I saw.  Film tends to photograph just as I see things.  With the same light, same shadows, and same feelings.  I am excited to keep shooting more film and sharing it with you all.

A little from my weekend

Got some rolls of film developed and they ended up not having much in them so I will show you a little from my weekend taken on my phone.  I love that I have a camera everywhere I go and apps that help me edit, make collages, and share them online.

Bottles from a thrift store.  My new addition to the Polaroid camera collection.  Cant wait to get film for this camera! And a trip to Universal City Walk.

Spring Time

Spring is probably my least favorite season.  So unpredictable with it's hot days that quickly turn into gloomy rainy days.  However, it is a sweet reminder that we must take each day as if it were our last day.  Not knowing what to expect and making the most of it.

Are you dreaming big?  Are you enjoying every minute of your day? Taking in the sights around you?

Where ever you find yourself today, remember to enjoy yourself.

Happy Monday!

35mm Film Tuesday

Looks very similar to the digital one... but the range of light is so much more dramatic in film. And no editing required.

Jodie McGuire takes photos, adds quotes, and sells them as postcards.  Clever and cute, yes please!

Louis Garcia painted this.  Completely self taught.

Here are some photos from the weekend by the sea and a midnight bike ride with a friend.  Also a few photos from the Riverside Arts Walk, held the first Thursday of every month.

Enjoy :)

Because I'm a Hopeless Romantic

I've mentioned many times before that I am with out a doubt a hopeless romantic. So, I thought, why not share with you guys my favorite hopeless romantic movies!   Here we go :)

 Shakespeare +  Leo.  Enough Said.

A true kaleidoscope infusing story, music and all of the characters involved.  The moral of the story: Love.

The Holiday I must admit is a bit cheesy.  Especially towards the end but at some point or another in my life I have been both Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.  And Jude Law is it in... hello?!

This one is like one huge big DUH!

Memoirs of a Geisha is probably one of my all time favorites.  Simply the carefully thought out soundtrack and cinematography separates it from most romantic movies.  And the story is just absolutely beautiful.  Almost identical to the book, which I've read.

Happy Monday!
